A Short Bio of Mrs. BAlthough born in Los Angeles, I consider myself a Northern California native. My family moved to Redding when I was 10. I graduated from Shasta High School, class of '81. After graduating as a history major at Chico State University, I realized that becoming an elementary school teacher was my calling. I absolutely love being a teacher. This year will mark my 26th year of teaching in Chico Unified. Besides 5th grade,I have taught a couple 4/5 combination classes, Kindergarten for 10 years, and a sprinkling of other grades throughout the years. I take my professional development very seriously. I have an advanced certificate in English language development, have participated in the Chico State Math Project for 4 years, and am currently very active in learning more technology and bringing it into the class. When I am not teaching, you may find me walking on a trail in Bidwell Park, reading a great book, or cheering at a Giant's game. I also love kayaking and hiking, especially in the mountains, and going whale watching! This year I will celebrate my 29th wedding anniversary. |
